Jessica's first job as JavaScript Junior Developer


Jessica Sanchez is a core Volunteer from 1 Million Women to Tech, she was born in Mexico and currently is living in Slovakia. She studied International Affairs at university and started to work at a very young age (11yo), her most relevant experience is as Project Manager and People Manager in procurement and finance process.
She decided to quit her job to persue her dream to become a software developer. Since January 2018 has been fully dedicated to train herself on coding by using the available free resources from internet to learn programming languages, main
ly focused in JavaScript, Python and Java. Her biggest challange was to find in a foregin country anenglish speaking community of developers, to support and mentor her during her career switch. 1MWTT connect her to women all around the world sharing the same interest, she found there great mentors and wonderful friends.
Since June 2018, she started to support 1MWTT as Country Coordinator for Slovakia and Mexico, took the opportunity to meet Ilona Budapesti during her visit to Hungary and support her as volunteer during one week. She became a core Volunteer in Systems team and was invited to present a keynote about 1Million Women to Tech at a tech conference for women in Vienna, on behalf of Ilona Budapesti.
On December 1st 2018 she took another step on her career switch, starting a new position as JavaScript Junior Developer at a German telecommunications company.
